On January 14, 2026, at approximately 7:00 P.M., Officer Wentland of the Waite Park Police Department, took a report of a theft that occurred earlier that day at Scheels in the City of Waite Park, County of Stearns, State of Minnesota. While conducting his investigation, he was informed of another theft that was committed by the same suspect, Sekeriye Mohamed Saleban, [DOB REDACTED], the defendant herein, on January 12, 2026. On January 12, 2026, Scheels lost prevention officer, B. J. H. (fully identified in police reports), was watching the store's security cameras and observed the defendant exit the store with a large backpack.
B. J. H. Then rewound the footage to when the defendant was in the store. B. J. H. Observed defendant conceal multiple items in his backpack and on his person. He then saw Defendant pass all points of sale without making an attempt to pay for any of the items. No one gave the defendant permission to leave without paying for the items. The total amount of items B. J. H. Was able to see the defendant take was $609.87. Defendant was previously convicted of Felony Theft in Dakota County Court File No. 19HA-CR-22-1017 on August 9, 2023. Complainant has reason to believe and does believe that all of the above information is true and correct.
The above facts constitute your complainant's basis for believing that the above-named defendant, on or about the 12th day of January, 2026, in the City of Waite Park, County of Stearns, State of Minnesota, committed the offenses described herein.
