Notice: Pursuant to Minnesota Rule of Criminal Procedure 7.02, the prosecution provides notice that, at trial, the State will offer evidence of the following offenses, in addition to the offense herein charged, for the purpose of proving the motive, intent, preparation, plan, and identity of the perpetrator. ••-CR-••-•••• On 11/5/25, Byrd-Solseth unsuccessfully fled from police while driving a stolen vehicle with a switched license plate. After an 8 mile pursuit at speeds near 90 mph on residential streets, Byrd-Solseth crashed into another vehicle and was arrested.
This Auto Theft case is still active. ••-CR-••-•••• On 10/15/24 Byrd-Solseth unsuccessfully fled from police whie driving a vehicle that had been reported stolen the day before. He was arrested after striking a squad and driving off the roadway. Found in the vehicle was property from other thefts. This Auto Theft case is still active. ••-CR-••-•••• On 12/11/20, police tried to stop Byrd-Solseth who was driving a vehicle that had been stolen two days earlier. Byrd-Solseth unsuccessfully fled from police at speeds exceeding 70 mph in a residential zone.
He struck another vehicle and was finally stopped when police performed a PIT maneuver. Byrd-Solseth was convicted of Auto Theft. ••-CR-••-•••• On 11/22/20, Byrd-Solseth was arrested driving a vehicle that had been stolen days earlier. In the vehicle police found identification and financial transactions cards for two other people and a check belonging to a third. Byrd-Solseth was convicted of Receiving Stolen Property (auto). Current offense: On 1/30/26 at 0805 hours, St. Paul Police took a report of a motor vehicle theft.
The vehicle’s owner, DPM, reported that sometime overnight someone stole his 2018 Dodge Ram 1500 (MN/RRW357) from the street in front of his house at [ADDRESS REDACTED] in St. Paul. The value of the vehicle exceeded $5,000. On 2/3/26 at 1915 hours, Roseville Police spotted the stolen truck at the Har Mar Mall at [ADDRESS REDACTED] N in Roseville, Ramsey County. The vehicle was backed into a parking spot and was not displaying a front license plate. Auto thieves commonly remove license plates, and then back into parking spots, in order to thwart law enforcement efforts to identify the vehicle.
The truck’s driver’s seat was occupied by a male who was later identified as Kevin Jamaal BYRD- SOLSETH [DOB REDACTED]. As police approached, BYRD-SOLSETH exited the vehicle and was taken into custody. During a search incident to arrest, police found the truck’s key on BYRD-SOLSETH’s person. During a search of the vehicle, police found mail and other documents belonging to other people. Police also found two fraudulent temporary MN ID's. One had been altered using whiteout. The name AJS had been added, other information had been changed, and a photo that did not match AJS had been added to the document.
