Nelson was seated in the second row of seats of the vehicle. Nelson was also slumped over and asleep. A small amount of suspected fentanyl was found in Nelson’s purse and in the door next to her. Pieces of tin foil were also found on Nelson. 3 62-CR-25-9045 Filed in District Court State of Minnesota 12/5/2025 A shoe box with a large amount of cash inside was found in the third row of the vehicle ($5, 791). A garbage bag with cannabis flower and vape/cannabis products inside was found in the third row of seats of the vehicle.
A stack of unopened, empty cannabis packaging was also found. Officers obtained a search warrant for a sample of HAYATO’s blood or urine. The search warrant was executed by Trooper Schyma at 2:37. After a Miranda advisory, HAYATO spoke to an investigator. He said he was going to his mom’s house in Woodbury. His child’s mother, Nelson, was in the vehicle with him. They share the vehicle. He did not remember falling asleep at the stoplight. He was exhausted and did not sleep the night prior because he was watching a movie.
He last drank alcohol around 6:30 P.M. He took three sips of Crown Royal Whisky. The last time he used fentanyl was today. He is not much of a fentanyl user. He uses fentanyl so he can provide it to Nelson, who uses it. He only used a “tiny bit” of fentanyl today. He smoked fentanyl in powder form, burning it on tin foil to inhale it. He said he borrowed $2,000-$2,500 from his cousin to buy a birthday gift for Nelson. HAYATO denied the money was from drug sales. HAYATO said he had fentanyl in his pocket because he bought it for Nelson.
They buy the fentanyl in bulk so he does not have to keep going to see someone. He paid $1500 for the fentanyl at Wendy’s off Dale Street and University Avenue from a person named “Termite.” HAYATO denied selling fentanyl. HAYATO admitted the marijuana in the vehicle was his. He denied selling marijuana. He buys cannabis products from his cousin who is licensed. Eventually, HAYATO said, “If anything, I will sell weed before I sell drugs.” HAYATO said he sold weed yesterday and sells it every now and then.
This week, he made between $400-$500 from the sale of weed.
