02/13/1989 (36), violated the law as set forth herein. On January 24, 2026, at approximately 12:12 AM, Douglas County deputies responded to a reported domestic assault in progress at [ADDRESS REDACTED]. NW, Lot 3, located in Douglas County, Minnesota. Upon arrival, deputies observed two individuals restraining a male, identified as Manuel Elizondo, Jr. (“the Defendant”), on the floor. One individual was the Defendant’s brother, Edgar Elizondo, and the other was his girlfriend, Rochelle Piehl. Edgar was concerned that the Defendant may attempt to strike the deputies if he let go.
The Defendant then yelled at Edgar, “I’m gonna f*** you up, you f****** piece of s***.” Deputies moved Edgar out of the way, and the Defendant attempted to lunge toward Edgar and grab him. Deputies intervened and detained the Defendant for investigation purposes. A glass pipe with white residue, consistent with methamphetamine, was located in the Defendant’s front pants pocket. As deputies escorted the Defendant outside, the Defendant again lunged at Edgar and said, “You f****** b****, I’m gonna f*** you up, I’m gonna get you, you f****** b****.” During this exchange, the Defendant also pushed a deputy into a wall and was generally uncooperative with deputies, who eventually managed to secure him in a squad car after great difficulty.
Back inside the residence, Rochelle reported she had been dating the Defendant for a couple of months. The Defendant was advised he had a warrant out for his arrest and planned to turn himself in the next day. They were consuming alcohol that evening, and the Defendant later made advances on Rochelle in the bedroom. She left the room, and the Defendant was angry and followed her, yelling in her face. Edgar tried to intervene, and the Defendant hit him. Rochelle then tried to intervene and was shoved into the fridge and suffered a bloody lip.
Rochelle’s friend was also at the residence at the time of the assaults and corroborated Rochelle’s statements. When asked if the Defendant had any drugs at the residence, Rochelle provided a small plastic baggie containing a white crystalline substance, which field-tested positive for methamphetamine and weighed approximately 0.6 grams, inclusive of packaging. The Defendant was transported to the Douglas County Jail. He has an extensive criminal history from California, including drug, firearm, and gang-related offenses.
He also has prior convictions for possession of methamphetamine. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: Pursuant to Minn. Stat. § 609.49, intentional failure to appear for duly scheduled court appearances may result in additional criminal charges in addition to any arrest warrant that may otherwise be issued by the Court.
