On December 3, 2025, Minneapolis police officers responded to a possible domestic call at a home on the 2700 block of Randolph Avenue in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. The reporting party, L. W. (“Victim” herein), told officers that JESSE JAMES CERMAK (“Defendant” herein) had shown up at her home twice that evening in an attempt to contact her. Victim told officers that she had been in a short relationship with Defendant approximately 18 years prior and, about three months ago, Defendant began texting Victim again.
Victim stated Defendant texted and called her multiple times a day over the last three months. Defendant insisted that he wanted to meet with Victim. Victim told Defendant she did not want any contact with him, but Defendant did not stop contacting her. Defendant then showed up at her home on December 3, 2025, knocked on the door, and tried to get inside. On December 6, 2025, Minneapolis police officers responded to a welfare check at Victim’s home. Defendant had called police to check on Victim, stating that he hadn’t heard from Victim in three days.
Defendant also told officers that Victim had a history of being threatened by an ex-boyfriend, T. S. Defendant told officers that T. S. Was holding Victim against her will, and Defendant had already been to T. S.’s home in Otsego to do his own welfare check on Victim. Officers arrived on scene and spoke with Victim. Victim seemed frantic and told officers she was glad to see them. Officers asked if she was okay, and Victim said, “It’s been like three days of no sleep…so Jesse…did you read the reports?” Officers informed Victim that her “friend” was outside, and she asked, “Jesse?” Victim looked out her window, saw Defendant, and said “F***, that’s the guy that’s been stalking me.” Victim told officers about the December 3, 2025 incident.
During this conversation, Victim said Defendant rang her doorbell and tried to open her door, but he couldn’t get in and left. Defendant returned later that day, and Victim told Defendant, “I’m calling the police, get off my porch.” Defendant left. Victim then called the police.
