On December 16, 2024, an officer with the North Branch Police Department was working an investigative shift. The officer reviewed information received from an individual whose initials are W. A. S. ("the victim"), who had had money taken or retained from his business by EUGENE HANS HENDERSON, [DOB REDACTED] ("the Defendant"). The victim is the owner of Top Shelf Construction, LLC, and he had begun subcontracting the Defendant in early 2022. The Defendant was to be a sales representative for the victim's business.
Part of the Defendant's job was to, from time to time, collect monies owed to the victim's business Top Shelf Construction, LLC by the victim's clients. The Defendant was then to turn those collected monies in to the victim's business. The victim had reviewed documentation with respect to the Defendant's collections of monies on particular jobs. Through the victim's review of documentation as well as the victim's clients' statements, it was determined that the Defendant had collected $1,250.00 from two of the victim's clients and had never returned these collected monies to the victim or the victim's business.
The Defendant collected $250.00 from a client whose intitials are J. M. On or about July 17, 2023. The Defendant also collected $1,000.00 from a client whose initials are D. C. In July of 2023. Both of these clients were in North Branch, Minnesota, within Chisago County.
