On March 4, 2026, at approximately 3:45 P.M., Metro Transit Officers were dispatched to 5th Street East & Minnesota Street, Saint Paul, County of Ramsey, on an assault. The comments to the call reported someone took caller’s phone and suspect had a knife and tried to stab caller with it. Officers responded. BLM approached officers and pointed to the suspect who was at the 5th and Minnesota bus stop. Officers approached the suspect-LAMERRIA ASKARA-ROSE ARDOIN- HENDERSON, [DOB REDACTED]. She would not cooperate with commands, but was eventually handcuffed.
On scene, officers approached a male, DES. Officers located a blue folding knife with a carabiner attached to it on DES. Officers did not know if DES was involved in the incident. During a search, ammunition was found on DES. BLM told officers he knows ARDOIN-HENDRESON because she used to date his cousin. He saw her lying on the ground across the street and thought she was dead. He went to check on her. BLM helped ARDOIN-HENDERSON up. She started dancing to music playing on his phone. She then laid back down on the ground.
At some point, the music on his phone stopped. BLM took out his phone to skip the ad. ARDOIN-HENDERSON got up, snatched his phone, and walked away toward the bus stop. He followed her to try to get his phone back. When they arrived at the bus stop, ARDOIN-HENDERSON started swinging, punching, and kicking at him. She took out a blue pocketknife and swung it around. She told BLM she was going to kill him, so he stopped following her. BLM went and pushed the assistance button inside the bus shelter at 5th Street East and Cedar Street.
BLM said he was scared and did not want to die when ARDOIN-HENDERSON said she was going to kill him. During a show-up, BLM identified ARDOIN-HENDERSON as the person who assaulted him. BLM described his telephone as a gray Motorola with cracks on the screen. He did not know his telephone number. During a search, a blue folding knife was found in ARDOIN-HENDERSON’s left sock. ARDOIN-HENDERSON said she was having trouble breathing. She was transported to Regions Hospital. At Region’s Hospital, BLM’s phone was found inside ARDOIN-HENDERSON’s left chest jacket pocket.
ARDOIN-HENDERSON was released from the hospital and transported to the LEC. After a Miranda advisory, she spoke to an officer. ARDOIN-HENDERSON admitted taking the phone from BLM. She said it was her phone and said, “we all have the same phone like from safe zone.” ARDOIN-HENDERSON denied pulling out a knife on BLM.
