That on July 19, 2025, at approximately 8:46 P.M., Bloomington Police Officer Davis was dispatched to an assault at 8001 33rd Ave. S., Bloomington, Hennepin County, on report of a female stating she had almost been stabbed. Officer Davis spoke with K. V. R., the victim herein, who stated that Aaron Dondre Patton [DOB REDACTED], the defendant herein, was her friend who occasionally slept on her couch. The victim arrived home to find the defendant was there and she told him that he was not supposed to be there.
An argument ensued and the defendant refused to leave until the victim paid him $300.00 she allegedly owes him. The defendant pushed the victim, [NAME REDACTED], and stated something similar to "I'm going to kill you." The defendant walked toward the kitchen and grabbed a knife and the victim ran out of the room. The defendant chased the victim [NAME REDACTED] in his hand but he tripped so the victim was able to get away. Officer Davis noted there was an iPhone in the hallway outside of the victim's room and it was smashed and broken.
The victim walked through her room with officers and noted that she was also missing another iPhone, an Apple watch, an iPad, and the keys to her apartment and vehicle. The next day, Officer Davis learned from the victim that some of her missing items were found by a neighbor and returned to her, but she was still missing her Apple watch. Bloomington Detective Nolden investigated and spoke with the defendant briefly by phone on July 22, 2025, and he admitted to still having the Apple watch. Detective Nolden confirmed with the victim that the defendant returned the watch on July 22, 2025. Based on the above, your complainant states that on July 19, 2025, within the corporate limits of the City of Bloomington, Hennepin County, State of Minnesota, Aaron Dondre Patton, then and there being, did violate the above-listed provisions.
