On January 29, 2026, officers with the Edina Police Department were dispatched to the report of property damage at 3510 Galleria, Edina, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Officers spoke with an adult male, M. K., who is a security officer at the GalleriA.M. K. Said they received a report of someone acting in an erratic matter and walking towards the parking lot. M. K. Followed the man, later identified as NAJIB JAMA TINSLEY, [DOB REDACTED], “Defendant” herein. M. K. Saw Defendant in the parking ramp with a Target shopping cart and saw him load water into a Honda.
The Defendant then walked the cart back to Target and up the ramp to the ground level when he heard a loud crash consistent with a vehicle being hit. Defendant was seen walking awa from a red Ford Maverick. M. K. Checked the Ford and saw damage to the headlight and passenger side front bumper. M. K. Then had contact with the Defendant and trespassed him from the Galleria. During that contact M. K. Believed Defendant to be intoxicated. An officer then arrived to take custody of Defendant who was arrested for damage to property.
While conducting their investigation officers located two other vehicles with damage in the area: a Buick Envision and a Pontiac Grand Prix. The two vehicles were parked next to each other and had damaged rearview mirrors. Officers made contact with their respective owners who both said the damage had not been there when they parked their cars. Officers made contact with owner of the Ford who reported his vehicle had not been damaged prior to the incident. The estimate to repair the damage to the Ford was $2,409.29. Estimated repair for the damaged Buick was $66.43. The Defendant, in a post-Miranda statement, generally denied having caused the damage, claimed he was upset for other reasons, and the noise was from throwing a soda can, and also said, “I’m apologetic, I’m sorry.
