On or about February 1, 2026 at approximately 7:17 AM, Moorhead Police Department Officer M. Tol responded to a report of a motor vehicle theft that occurred at [ADDRESS REDACTED], Moorhead, located in Clay County, MN. The Victim, [NAME REDACTED]G., reported that her father, CARLOS ADAN GONZALEZ [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter the Defendant, had taken her car just a few minutes earlier. Upon arrival, the Victim [NAME REDACTED] had been staying with her for a few weeks. The Victim further stated that that night, she had let the Defendant into the residence at approximately 2:00 - 3:00 A.M., as he had been locked out.
Just prior to the Victim contacting law enforcement about the theft, the Victim [NAME REDACTED] was woken up by noises coming from upstairs. The Victim reported that she found the Defendant drinking a beer at the table. When the Victim asked the Defendant what he was doing, the Defendant threw the beer can he was drinking, took the Victim's car keys from the counter, and left the residence with the vehicle. The Defendant has never been given permission to drive the vehicle, and to the best of her knowledge he had never driven it in the past.
