On November 30, 2025, at approximately 12:30 A.M., Minneapolis police responded to an animal welfare check at 657 22nd Avenue NE in Minneapolis, Hennepin County. Call comments reported a male suspect shouting that the dog was dead, swinging it around, and then throwing it onto the ground. Police responded and located the male suspect, later identified as DAVID STEVEN GIORGI [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein. Police spoke with the witnesses, S. N. And M. N., who reported Defendant had been drinking and had become upset about their dog Casey.
Both parties then observed the dog tumbling down the stairs, before Defendant picked him up and carried him around the building before throwing the dog into a bush. M. N. Quickly picked up the dog, that was rapidly shaking and whimpering and bleeding from his mouth. Defendant then continued to yell and scream and demanded S. N. To open the rear door into the hallway of the building. Once in the rear hallway, Defendant continued to yell and be verbally aggressive. Defendant then attempted to gain entry into the first-floor hallway.
Defendant did not have a key, so he proceeded to pull on the door until he forcibly opened it. M. N. Stated she heard a loud bang and then observed Defendant next to the door with the door off its hinges and open. The total value of the damage to the door is $3,398. At present, Defendant is not in custody.
