04/04/1966 (59), violated the law as set forth herein. On March 7, 2026, at approximately 3:25 P.M., Douglas County Sheriff’s Deputy David Perez was dispatched to a residence located at [ADDRESS REDACTED] 71 NE, Nelson, Douglas County, MN, for a report of a domestic assault. The complainant, identified as the Defendant, stated her son and daughter-in-law beat her up and that she was scared and hiding upstairs. Upon arrival at the residence, Dep. Perez met with T. S., the Defendant’s son, who stated the Defendant moved in with him a few months prior and that she has a history of addiction to heroin, alcohol, and prescription pills.
Lately, T. S. Stated the Defendant is struggling with her alcohol addiction. T. S. Stated his mother had been drinking all day and, after some time, L. S., his wife, hid the bottle of liquor the Defendant was drinking from due to the Defendant’s intoxication level. This made the Defendant extremely upset, and she began trying to hit T. S. T. S. Placed the Defendant in a bear hug and took her to the ground in self-defense. At one point during the altercation, the Defendant grabbed a pair of scissors and pointed the scissors at T. S. In a threatening manner.
This was witnessed by multiple people. T. S. Stated he does not believe the Defendant would hurt him and was probably just trying to scare him with the scissors. L. S. Stated she was scared for her safety and their daughter’s safety when the Defendant armed herself with the scissors. The Defendant denied the allegations. When speaking with the Defendant, Dep. Perez noticed she appeared extremely impaired by multiple substances, including alcohol, medications, and marijuana. T. S. And L. S.’s 2-year-old child, the Defendant’s grandchild, [NAME REDACTED] incident.
