Witness A admitted that she believed the methamphetamine was inside the truck inside the gray duffel bag. In a Mirandized statement, the defendant admitted that there were controlled substances in the vehicle. The defendant also made a comment to law enforcement that he could provide them "bigger fish." The defendant also admitted that law enforcement would locate a small amount, approximately 3.5 to 4 grams, of methamphetamine in his residence. 2 73-CR-26-1978 Filed in District Court State of Minnesota 3/13/2026 A search of the defendant's truck was conducted and Investigator Hazen located a gray duffel bag, which had a tag on it with the defendant's name and address on it.
Inside the gray duffel bag was a red toiletry bag. Inside the red bag, Investigator Hazen located multiple clear Ziploc baggies containing a white crystalline substance. Based on his training and experience, Investigator Hazen immediately recognized the substance as methamphetamine, a schedule II controlled substance. One of the Ziploc baggies was a half-gallon size and contained multiple large shards of suspected methamphetamine. A second Ziploc baggie contained smaller powdery substance of methamphetamine.
A third Ziploc baggie contained smaller chunks and a powdery substance of methamphetamine. The total weight of the methamphetamine located in the defendant's vehicle was 114.50 grams. Inside the duffel bag, law enforcement also located unused hypodermic needles and a Ziploc bag that contained multiple smaller empty baggies. On March 05, 2026, law enforcement executed a search warrant on the defendant's residence.
