On April 5, 2026, officers with the Minneapolis Police Department responded to the area of 904 5th Avenue North in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota, on report of a robbery. Specifically, the reporting party stated that a male, who had been living inside of a recreational vehicle (“RV”) near the caller’s house, stated his RV had been burglarized. The caller also told officers that the male reported that the burglars had shot at him when he tried to leave the RV. Upon arrival officers observed the male, who was identified as Drion Rapheal Armstrong [DOB REDACTED] (“Defendant”), standing on the roadway pacing around the RV. Defendant told officers that six people had broken into his RV while he was sleeping.
Defendant further stated that the people were armed with guns. While speaking with Defendant, officers observed him to be sweating profusely and making erratic movements. While officers were inside of the RV, an uninvolved vehicle drove towards the RV. Defendant became extremely paranoid of the vehicle. Defendant told officers that “he” (when referring to the uninvolved vehicle) was there to hurt Defendant. The vehicle was found to be driven by a female and later drove away. The officers who were inside of the RV did not locate any person inside of it.
Officers told Defendant there no person was in the RV, but Defendant insisted that all six people were still inside. Officers could smell a strong odor of gasoline from inside of the RV. Defendant told officers that he poured the gasoline inside of the RV to burn the intruders. Officers subsequently found that Defendant had a warrant for his arrest; Defendant was arrested. Defendant’s person was eventually searched after a struggle. On Defendant’s person were clear baggies which contained a white substance.
The white substance field tested positive for Fentanyl, a schedule-II controlled substance, and weighed 4.86-grams. Defendant is in-custody on unrelated charges. Therefore, a warrant is requested to ensure Defendant’s appearance.
