On February 24, 2026, Deputy Martinson of the Carver County Sheriff's Office responded to an assisted living facility in the city of Waconia, Carver County, regarding financial fraud card transactions. Deputy Martinson arrived and spoke with reporting party J. R. T. (hereinafter, "victim"). Victim [NAME REDACTED] has allowed Donald Raymond Molt, [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein, to use her financial card to buy some items for her, however, there were multiple ATM withdrawals that were not authorized.
Victim explained that she provided her debit card to Defendant to make some purchases at the local liquor store and the tobacco store. Defendant returned her debit card on February 23, 2026 and Victim [NAME REDACTED] ATM transactions were completed on her account and that she did not authorize them. The following purchases were not authorized: ATM Transactions 2/19/26 - $63.50 2/19/26 - $42.25 2/19/26 - $42.25 2/19/26 - $42.25 2/20/26 - $42.25 2/20/26 - $62.25 2/20/26 - $42.25 2/20/26 - $40.00 2/20/26 - $23.50 2/20/26 - $22.25 2/23/26 - $80.00 2/23/26 - $62.25 2/23/26 - $42.25 2/23/26 - $42.25 2/23/26 - $42.25 2/23/26 - $22.25 In total, Defendant had obtained $714 in unauthorized ATM withdrawals.
Defendant agreed to provide a statement and admitted that he had possession of Victim's debit card on February 19, 2026 and made purchases on behalf of Victim. Defendant admitted to possessing Victim's debit card a few days later and on February 23, 2026. Defendant stated that some of the purchases Victim was not present and he used the debit card. Defendant admitted that he has visited the ATM at Hoppers withdrawing $40 each time and that it was broke up over a week. Defendant stated that he was borrowed $160 in total from Victim.
Defendant has a history with this same modus operandi of borrowing other resident members financial cards and making unauthorized ATM withdrawals at the local bars. Defendant is currently being charged with felony financial transaction card fraud with a different victim in Court file ••-CR-••-••••. Defendant is also on probation for similar conduct in court file ••-CR-••-••••. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: Pursuant to Minn.
