On February 25, 2026, at 9:54 P.M., Deputy Blackford of the Wright County Sheriff’s Office stopped a Jeep Grand Cherokee, hereinafter vehicle, bearing Minnesota license plate [PLATE REDACTED], for an unreadable license plate and inoperable license plate lights while traveling in the City of Otsego, Wright County, Minnesota. The driver, later identified as Milton Montreal Robinson [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter Defendant, drove approximately two blocks after Deputy Blackford activated the emergency lights of his squad vehicle, then stopped.
Defendant rolled down all the windows of the vehicle before Deputy Blackford reached the vehicle and began smoking a Black and Mild cigar. Defendant avoided eye contact with Deputy Blackford, mumbled his speech, and was visibly nervous. A license check revealed an alcohol and drug restriction on Defendant’s license and a requirement that Defendant only drive vehicles equipped with ignition interlock. The vehicle lacked ignition interlock. Defendant was arrested and transported to the Wright County Jail in the City of Buffalo.
When Defendant exited the squad vehicle, Deputy Blackford observed an odor of breath alcohol from Defendant. Defendant had slow, shuffling steps while walking into the jail and had bloodshot, watery eyes. Defendant refused to take field sobriety tests. Deputy Blackford believed Defendant was under the influence of alcohol, read the Breath Test Advisory to Defendant, and asked Defendant if he would take a breath test. Defendant refused to take a breath test and thereby refused to submit to chemical testing.
Defendant was previously convicted for Driving While Impaired – Test Refusal, on June 3, 2024 (See Court File ••-CR-••-••••) and Driving While Impaired – Alcohol Concentration of.08 or More, on September 5, 2018 (See Court File 62SU-CR-18-1664). Defendant’s license privileges were revoked on August 8, 2019, for an Implied Consent Test Refusal.
