06/03/1976 (49), violated the law as set forth herein. On January 30, 2026, at approximately 7:03 PM, Officer Logan Sanborn observed a blue Ford F-150 traveling southbound on Broadway Street near 13th Avenue East in Alexandria, Minnesota. The vehicle was driving without headlights, taillights, or license plates displayed. Officer Sanborn activated emergency lights behind the vehicle near 13th Avenue East and Broadway Street. The vehicle failed to stop and continued traveling, prompting activation of the siren while northbound on Hawthorne Street.
Lights and siren remained active throughout. The vehicle proceeded without stopping: eastbound on 15th Avenue East, northbound on Hawthorne Street, westbound on 13th Avenue East (crossing Broadway), southbound on Fillmore Street, southwest on Aga Drive, and into the parking lot at [ADDRESS REDACTED]. It circled to the west side of the building, where the driver exited, fled on foot into the building, and entered [ADDRESS REDACTED]. Officer Sanborn pursued but lost sight after his vest caught on a smoker inside; the suspect wore a puffy tan jacket.
More officers arrived to assist and set a perimeter at the scene. Officer Sanborn recognized the vehicle and location from a July 24, 2025, contact involving Ryan Kellenberger (registered owner), who had expressed suicidal ideations, worked at the building, and was often present after hours. Dispatch and VIN confirmed the match. Due to the suspect's access to firearms and suicidal history, officers located an uncased rifle in the vehicle, prompting SWAT activation. SWAT located and arrested KELLENBERGER hiding atop a bathroom in the southwest corner of [ADDRESS REDACTED], wearing the same tan jacket.
KELLENBERGER was taken into custody without incident and transported to Douglas County Jail. An inventory search revealed a Marlin Model 881.22 caliber bolt-action rifle, uncased in the back seat, loaded with 15 rounds (one chambered). KELLENBERGER's driving privileges are currently canceled - inimical to public safety. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: Pursuant to Minn. Stat. § 609.49, intentional failure to appear for duly scheduled court appearances may result in additional criminal charges in addition to any arrest warrant that may otherwise be issued by the Court.
