On December 13, 2025, at approximately 9:18 A.M., law enforcement received complaints of shoplifting from two businesses involving the same suspects. Cold Spring Officer Henningsgaard responded to O'Reilly's located in the City of Cold Spring, County of Stearns. Officer Henningsgaard learned that a male and female had been in the store. The male selected several items in a shopping basket and went to the counter. The clerk scanned the items in and the male asked for another part from the back. While the clerk was in the back, the male exited the store with all of the merchandise, having paid for nothing.
A receipt from the manager confirmed that the male left with $769.18 worth of merchandise. Deputy Hegg assisted and while investigating the incident at O'Reilly's, officers learned that the same suspects had just stolen from Napa Auto in the Township of Wakefield, County of Stearns. Deputy Hegg spoke with an employee at Napa and learned that a male had taken a push pin retainer set and a hammer, valued at $282.94. The employee said the suspects left in a vehicle, matching the description of the vehicle at O'Reilly's, and was seen pulling into the parking lot at Dollar General.
Officers located this vehicle, a 1998 Chevy Silverado, and conducted a traffic stop after it left the Dollar General parking lot. The male driver was fully identified at Lukas Alexander Kamrowski, [DOB REDACTED], the defendant herein. The female passenger identified herself using the full name and date of birth of N. L. G., fully identified in the reports. As officers approached the vehicle they observed several tools and items in the bed of the truck still in the packaging. Additional items in an O'Reilly's box were observed behind the driver's seat.
The defendant and the passenger denied being at either store. In a taped statement, the defendant admitted that he had taken all of the merchandise from O'Reilly's and Napa and that the female was not involved. Officers recovered all of the merchandise from the vehicle with the assistance of the defendant. The defendant said the vehicle belongs to his father so he put Schwieters dealer plates over the license plates so his dad would not get in trouble. On December 31, 2025, Paynesville Officer Haakonson, who also assisted in this investigation, learned that the female had falsely identified herself.
Officer Haakonson confirmed the female in this incident is fully identified as Kaitlin Marie Larsen, [DOB REDACTED]. The total value of merchandise taken by the defendant was $1,052.12, most of which was recovered. Complainant has reason to believe and does believe that the above information is true and correct. The above facts constitute your complainant's basis for believing that the above named defendant, on or about the 13th day of December, 2025, in the City of Cold Spring and Township of Wakefield, County of Stearns, State of Minnesota, committed the offense described herein.
