That on or about May 12, 2026 at approximately 12:24 A.M., officers with the Spring Lake Police Department responded to an apartment located on the 8000 block of McKinley Street NE, Spring Lake Park, Anoka County, Minnesota in reference to a possible burglary. While responding, dispatch advised officers that a complaining witness believed the suspect was possibly armed with a knife, and banging on a locked bedroom door. Upon arrival, law enforcement made contact with the reporting party, Victim #1. Victim #1 described that he was asleep with his girlfriend, Victim #2, when they were both awakened by an unknown female yelling inside their residence.
This female was subsequently identified as CARMELA DEL ROCIO GUAJARE SAANT [DOB REDACTED], herein Defendant. Victim #1 informed law enforcement that Defendant did not live in the residence, and did not have permission to enter the residence. Victim #1 believed Defendant entered the residence through an unsecured patio door or window. Victim #1 described that after Defendant entered the residence, Defendant approached the locked bedroom door of his roommate, Victim #3. Defendant yelled for Victim #3 to open the door.
Victim #1 heard Defendant using an object to attempt to gain entry into Victim #3’s bedroom. When Defendant was unsuccessful in gaining entry into Victim #3’s bedroom, Defendant turned her attention to the locked bedroom of Victim #1 and Victim #2. Defendant then attempted entry into this bedroom in a similar manner. Victim #1 feared for his safety and the safety of others within the residence. Victim #3 was interviewed by law enforcement. Victim #3 identified Defendant as his ex-girlfriend. Victim #3 did not give Defendant consent to enter the residence.
Victim #3 stated that he had been ignoring messages and calls from Defendant, which he believed was the reason Defendant had appeared in the residence. Victim #3 told law enforcement that he believed Defendant was armed with a black-handle kitchen knife when she was attempting entry into the bedrooms. Officers observed, and photographed, scratch and gouge marks near Victim #3’s bedroom. Law enforcement then made contact with Defendant, who was seated on the living room couch. Initially, Defendant denied using a knife or damaging the door.
When officers requested Defendant stand up from the couch, officers observed a knife with a black handle wrapped in a towel or cloth directly underneath where the Defendant had been seated. The knife was secured by officers. Following a Miranda waiver, Defendant stated the following: Defendant and her boyfriend, Victim #3, had an argument over the phone. After this had occurred, Defendant drove to the aforementioned residence, and found the front door unlocked. Defendant admitted to entering the residence.
