On March 9, 2026, at approximately 7:49 P.M., Saint Paul Officers responded to a residence on the 800 block of Jenks Avenue, Saint Paul, County of Ramsey, on multiple calls reporting two siblings were fighting, and the older brother threatened to shoot the family. A caller indicated there were approximately eight people inside of the house. Officers arrived and heard yelling from inside the house. It was unknown to officers if the suspect-ABDISAMAD RASHAD ABDI, [DOB REDACTED]- was in the home. Officers used a K9 and an armored vehicle during their response in order to contain the house and to try to assist any potential victims.
Officers called occupants of the home outside. Officers entered the home to do a protective sweep for victims. ABDI was not found in the home. On scene, officers met KRA. KRA said she was upstairs in the residence when her brother, ABDI, went upstairs and yelled at her and said he would beat her up. ABDI hit her on her right cheek with his fist. KRA defended herself and they got into a physical altercation. Her father, RAA, tried to pull ABDI off of her. ABDI said to her, “I’m going to get my gun on you.” ABDI left the kitchen and went downstairs to where his room is located.
A few moments later, ABDI returned upstairs. ABDI found KRA in the kitchen. He pulled up his shirt and exposed a black handgun that was tucked into his waistband. ABDI pulled the handgun out of his waistband, pulled it toward his body, and said, “I’m going to kill you.” KRA believed ABDI was going to shoot her so she ran away. ABDI chased her around the house with the gun. To get away from ABDI, KRA ran outside through the front door and ABDI ran outside through the back door. KRA’s friend, RA, was parked outside of the address.
KRA entered the passenger seat of RA’s vehicle. RA drove away from the address. They returned when they saw officers arrive on scene. FL, KRA and ABDI’s mother, said she told ABDI that the police were coming. FL said ABDI ran out of the house and went west through the alley. RA said she was sitting in her vehicle waiting for KRA to go out when she witnessed “chaos” in front of the house. She saw a group of family members exit the house before KRA entered her car. Officers searched the area for ABDI, but did not find him at that time.
After officers left the scene, RAA, ABDI’s father reported his son, ABDI, stole his vehicle, a black Toyota Highlander. RAA also said there was a gold Glock 19X inside the vehicle. Officer Kline found the Toyota Highlander with no headlights or taillights operating approaching Arcade Street westbound from Jenks Avenue. A traffic stop was conducted north of Jenks Avenue on Arcade Street. ABDI was the driver of the vehicle and was told to exit. A gun was not found in the vehicle. ABDI declined an interview.
Officers obtained a search warrant to search the house. During the search, officers recovered an HP laptop, Solofish Weapon Mounted Light, Glock Weapon Mounted Light, UTG Extended handgun magazine, and tan Glock handgun grip. The HP laptop computer was actively recording when officers found it in ABDI’s bedroom. The laptop had been recording for over four hours. An eleven-year-old juvenile, W1 said he was in the home when he heard his older brother, ABDI, arguing with his sister, KRA. ABDI destroyed things upstairs.
