On May 27, 2026, at approximately 2002 hours, Mille Lacs Tribal Police were dispatched to [ADDRESS REDACTED], Onamia, Minnesota, on a report of an assault in progress involving a knife. Upon arrival, officers located Timothy Allen Geionety [DOB REDACTED] in the driveway with blood on his right hand and two knives on the ground: a Camillus folding knife covered in blood and a kitchen knife. Officers proceeded to the rear of the residence, where they located an adult male, fully identified in police reports (hereinafter "victim"), lying unresponsive on a concrete patio in a pool of blood.
Officers observed a deep puncture wound to the left side of the victim’s neck/shoulder region, behind the clavicle. Officers described the wound as consistent with the width and shape of the Camillus folding knife. The victim exhibited agonal breathing and profuse bleeding; lifesaving measures were initiated. The victim was ultimately airlifted by Life Link due to the severity of his injury. Multiple witnesses identified Geionety as the person who stabbed the victim. Witness, [NAME REDACTED], the defendant’s sister, stated she arrived because the defendant reported earlier verbal altercations with the victim.
S. S. Reported that the victim [NAME REDACTED], was advancing toward the defendant while pulling up his pants and digging in his pockets, and that she stepped between them to prevent the victim [NAME REDACTED]. S. S. Stated that during the confrontation, she saw a knife “come out of [victim]’s neck,” and that the knife came from the defendant. S. S. Further stated that the defendant and the victim had been mutually threatening to stab each other moments before the stabbing. Witness [NAME REDACTED] confirmed she observed the victim speed walking toward the defendant and S. S. While S. S. Yelled “stop” and “no.” She later, after the incident, saw the defendant drop two knives on the ground at the front of the residence.
Officer observations at the scene included: A single stab wound to the victim’s neck area; Substantial blood loss and immediate life-threatening condition; Blood on the blade of the folding knife; A small cut on the defendant’s right hand consistent with knife use. The defendant was taken into custody. While crying and emotional, the defendant made spontaneous statements including: "just protecting my sister” and “I didn’t wanna hurt nobody, I'm sorry, I wanted to protect them.
