On October 3, 2025, at approximately 2:00 P.M., Saint Louis Park Police Officers were dispatched to the McDonald’s restaurant at [ADDRESS REDACTED] West, Saint Louis Park, Hennepin County, Minnesota, after two females assaulted a McDonald’s employee, adult female Victim. Victim explained to police that a car with at least two young women passed through the drive-through window to order food, and the second time the women attempted to pay for their food their payment was rejected. In response, the driver of the vehicle, later identified as SAPHARI LORANE HACKINS, Defendant herein, entered the restaurant.
Victim [NAME REDACTED] at the counter. Defendant became increasingly angry with Victim, [NAME REDACTED] had a coupon and therefore her $6.60 purchase price was too high. Defendant then slapped Victim [NAME REDACTED]. Then second person with Defendant, later identified as Defendant’s 16-year-old half sister Co- Respondent K. M. G., pulled Victim to the ground by Victim’s hair. Defendant and Co-Respondent K. M. G. Kicked Victim [NAME REDACTED], arm, back, and buttocks while Victim [NAME REDACTED]. Eventually, Defendant pulled Co-Respondent K. M. G. Away and the two left the restaurant.
Victim initially went to Urgent Care soon after the assault, and Victim [NAME REDACTED] on how to monitor for symptoms of a concussion. Victim’s headache worsened on the evening of October 3 and morning of October 4, 2025, and she returned to Urgent Care on October 4, 2025 where she was diagnosed with a concussion from the assault. Police interviewed several witnesses and watched surveillance video from multiple angles, all of which corroborated the account above. Police identified Defendant due to a white cast on her left wrist and her very distinctive clothing, including black and white checkered pajama pants.
Saint Louis Park Police had interacted with Defendant the prior day during a disturbance at a Walgreen’s store while Defendant had the same cast on her left wrist and wore the same black and white checkered pants. On October 10, 2025, a Saint Louis Park Police Officer with no knowledge of the case administered a double-blind six-person photo array to Victim. Victim identified the photo of Defendant as the person who initiated the assault inside the McDonald’s restaurant. Surveillance video from the store clearly showed Co-Respondent K. M. G., Defendant’s half-sister.
On October 10, 2025, a Saint Louis Park Police Juvenile Response Officer viewed the surveillance video and immediately recognized Co-Respondent K. M. G. As the person who aided and abetted Defendant’s assault on Victim. Co-Respondent K. M. G. Is a student at Saint Louis Park High School, and the Juvenile Response Officer recognized Co-Respondent K. M. G. From school.
