On 12/5/25, someone stole MHM’s mother’s 2018 Honda Accord (MN/SHE583). MHM had left the Honda running outside the BlueLine Apartments in Minneapolis. MHM had the vehicle’s key fob but had left his wallet, his red coat, and his sweatpants in the vehicle. The Honda was equipped with GPS and on 12/6/25 the vehicle was shut off which triggered a GPS alert to MHM. The Honda’s GPS showed that it was stationary at the corner of Snelling Ave and Larpenteur Ave in Falcon Heights, Ramsey County. MHM, his mother, and his friends drove there and found the vehicle parked at the BP gas station ([ADDRESS REDACTED]). A white female, later identified as Ashley Rose HANSON ([DOB REDACTED]), was standing next to it.
HANSON was wearing MHM’s red coat and his sweatpants. When confronted, HANSON said that she had signed the title that was in the Honda’s glove compartment, so the vehicle was now hers. MHM called 911. At about 1245 hours, St. Anthony Police responded to the gas station. Upon arrival, they spoke to HANSON and asked her what happened. HANSON said she was not sure because she owned the Honda and had a signed title for it. When asked for identification, HANSON pulled out MHM’s wallet, which contained MHM’s credit cards and driver's license.
HANSON was arrested. While walking to the squad, HANSON said she wanted to tell the officer what happened. She said she had been at the Blue Line Apartments in Minneapolis, saw the Honda running, got in it, and drove away. She said that the vehicle was hers but that she did not have any keys. She said she stopped at the gas station, shut it off, and couldn’t get it started again. During booking at the LEC, jail staff found two foil bindles in her socks containing suspected narcotics. The substance in each tested positive for methamphetamine.
Combined, they had a total net weight of.29 grams. The value of the vehicle exceeded $5,000. For purposes of Rule 6.
