On January 2, 2026, officers with the Minneapolis Police Department were observing Milestone surveillance cameras in the area of Franklin and Chicago Ave in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. On a camera labeled “Franklin & Elliot” officers observed a male who appeared to have an amount of suspected crack cocaine in his hand. The male was later identified as ROBERT EARL HAMBRICK, [DOB REDACTED], “Defendant” herein. Officers saw that the Defendant had a black satchel concealed under his jacket, and then saw the Defendant with clear plastic baggies in his hand.
Officers observed another man approach Defendant and appeared to exchange cash for a small white object. Defendant was then approached by several other individuals and appeared to conduct more transactions. Defendant then walked eastbound on Franklin and entered a market. Officers located Defendant in the market and placed him under arrest. Inside the satchel officers located $717.53 in cash and three bindles of suspected cocaine. The narcotics were later tested and weighed.3 grams with packaging and field tested positive for cocaine.
The State continues to consider additional charges. Defendant is currently in custody.
