On March 27, 2026, at approximately 12:30 A.M., Officer Wiseman of the Shakopee Police Department was on routine patrol in Shakopee, Scott County, Minnesota when he conducted a routine check of a vehicle which drove into a gas station parking lot. The suspect vehicle had a male driver and a female front passenger who did not match the physical description of the registered owner. Through a database, the officer learned that the registered owner had a contact with YOLANDA GARCIA GUERRA, [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein.
The officer was familiar with Defendant from a previous 2026 case. The officer was unable to fully see into the suspect vehicle due to the level of window tint which appeared to be darker than the statutory limit of 50%. The officer knew that Defendant had an active warrant. The officer followed the suspect vehicle to make a traffic stop due to the tint and Defendant being the front passenger. The officer initiated the traffic stop and approached the front passenger side and spoke with Defendant.
The officer was able to confirm the active warrant for Defendant. When he told Defendant of the warrant and she exited the vehicle, the officer saw a glass cylinder like container between the front passenger side seat and door frame. Upon asking, Defendant handed it to the officer. The officer observed a brown and crystalline rocklike substance consistent with methamphetamine. Upon asking what it was, Defendant stated that it was methamphetamine and hers. While seated in the squad car, Defendant told an officer there would be additional small plastic baggies with additional methamphetamine in the vehicle.
Officers searched the vehicle and found a black pouch on the front passenger floorboard containing multiple plastic tied baggies and a small Ziplock baggie with a crystalline substance consistent with methamphetamine. Upon returning to the police department, officers tested the clear and brown crystalline substance located in the glass cylinder between the passenger seat and the door frame which was positive for methamphetamine and weighed.5 grams; white crystalline substance located in a black pouch on the passenger side floorboard which tested positive for methamphetamine weighing.2 grams; white crystalline substance located in a black pouch on the passenger side floorboard which tested positive for methamphetamine weighing 1.7 grams; and white crystalline substance located in a black pouch on the passenger side floorboard which tested positive for methamphetamine weighing 1.3 grams for a total weight of 3.7 grams.
Defendant has a pending Drugs 5 court file number 70-CR-26-287 and a prior offense 5th Drugs(F) court file number Redwood 64-CR-19-163. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: Pursuant to Minn. Stat. 609.49, intentional failure to appear for duly scheduled court appearances may result in additional criminal charges, and in addition to any arrest warrant that may otherwise be issued by the Court.
