On or about March 26, 2026, at approximately 12:33 A.M., a state trooper on routine patrol was parked at the 46th Street bus stop in Minneapolis monitoring traffic speeds. The trooper saw a gray Infiniti SUV passing his location at a high rate of speed. The trooper locked the Infiniti traveling at 89 MPH in a 55 MPH zone. The trooper began following the Infiniti southbound on Interstate 35 West. The trooper noted the Infiniti was driving in multiple lanes of traffic, passing other cars, and weaving through traffic at excessive speeds.
The trooper followed the Infiniti southbound and, while approaching 76th Street, acquired a speed reading of 109 MPH in a 55 MPH zone. The Infiniti exited westbound onto 76th Street. The trooper followed and activated his emergency lights. The Infiniti eventually stopped in the right lane westbound on 76th Street prior to Penn Avenue in Richfield, Hennepin County, Minnesota. The trooper approached the driver’s side window, which was partially open, and ordered the driver to step out. The driver, later identified as RONALD JOHN JACKSON, JR. (“Defendant” herein), said, “hell no” and locked the Infiniti’s doors.
Defendant then put the Infiniti in reverse, backed up from the trooper’s squad car, and fled from the traffic stop. The trooper saw the Infiniti drive westbound on 76th Street. The Infiniti ran a red light at the intersection of Penn Avenue and continued driving. The Infiniti turned onto York Avenue South, and the trooper lost sight of the Infiniti. Due to the Infiniti’s prior dangerous driving conduct and high speeds, the trooper did not pursue. The trooper pulled Defendant’s DVS records and confirmed that Defendant is the person he saw driving the Infiniti during the initial traffic stop on March 26, 2026. The trooper also confirmed that Defendant’s current driver’s license status is canceled – inimical to public safety.
