On or about January 18, 2026, at approximately 3:07 P.M., Itasca County Sheriff’s Deputy Bodin overheard dispatch radio a possible domestic disturbance. At that time, dispatch did not have the location, but identified the phone number as belonging to T. A. B., hereinafter Victim, from prior law enforcement contacts. Deputy Bodin went to one of Victim’s listed addresses, in the 200 block of SE Fourth Street, Grand Rapids, Itasca County, Minnesota. Upon arrival, Deputy Bodin and Grand Rapids Police Officer Hussman knocked on the door, which opened due to the knocking.
When the door opened, a female, identified as Victim, [NAME REDACTED], visibly upset and crying. Deputy Bodin and Officer Hussman observed dried and wet blood on the right side of her mouth. Deputy Bodin also observed a male, later identified as ADAM LEE WHITE, [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter Defendant, sitting on the couch. Victim [NAME REDACTED] in a romantic relationship and share a child. Victim spoke with Deputy Bodin and Officer Hussman and stated that she and Defendant were arguing about things she saw on his phone.
Victim said she and Defendant began fighting and were on the floor when Defendant punched her in the mouth with a closed fist. Victim [NAME REDACTED] was punched, she saw stars. Victim then stated that she thought Defendant was going to break her neck, as he had grabbed her head and twisted it, saying “I should just do it.” Victim was not sure if Defendant would kill her but stated that he has previously come after her with a knife and choked her many times before. When asked if she had called 911, Victim [NAME REDACTED], but Defendant would not give her the phone.
Victim [NAME REDACTED] had her phone, she said “Siri, call 911,” but was unsure if the voice control worked to call emergency services. After some time, Victim was able to get her phone back and call for help. She waited in the closet until law enforcement arrived. Officer Hussman spoke with Defendant, who stated that Victim [NAME REDACTED] on his phone that he was supposed to get rid of and an argument ensued and Defendant started to get his things. Defendant stated Victim charged at him and punched him in the face.
Officer Hussman did not observe any marks where Defendant said he was hit. Defendant also stated he tried to push Victim [NAME REDACTED], which caused the injuries to Victim’s face. Defendant was then arrested and transported to the Itasca County Jail. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: Pursuant to Minn.
