On May 28, 2025, officers observed a vehicle that matched the description of a vehicle in a prior gun flashing incident. The vehicle was parked on 33rd Street East near Nicollet Avenue, in the City of Minneapolis, County of Hennepin, State of Minnesota. Officers had previously been informed that the driver of a black Hyundai Azera, MN PFD170, had displayed a firearm at a pedestrian. Officers observed that the vehicle was occupied by two individuals. Officers approached and identified the driver as Broc Dupree Lamart Seawright [DOB REDACTED] and the front passenger as Vanessa Corrine Bryant [DOB REDACTED]. Officers observed a bubble pipe that contained a white crystalline substance and a syringe that appeared to be loaded in an open purse on the front passenger floorboard.
Officers searched the vehicle and located a black Glock 43 in the lower part of the center console, and a baggie containing approximately 1.43 grams of a substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine in the top part of the center console. Officers obtained warrants for DNA samples from both Seawright and Bryant. The baggie containing methamphetamine and the firearm were submitted to the BCA for testing, which indicated that both Seawright and Bryant’s DNA were present on the firearm and that Bryant’s DNA was on the baggie containing the methamphetamine.
The State respectfully requests that the complaint issue by warrant as Bryant has active failure to appear warrants in unrelated cases.
