On January 12, 2026, at approximately 9:53 P.M., VICTIM [NAME REDACTED] reported to the Minneapolis Police Department that his neighbor, RICHARD LOUIS SCHNEIDER [DOB REDACTED], DEFENDANT herein, had entered VICTIM’s property, located at [ADDRESS REDACTED]. S., city of Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota, with a ladder and climbed onto VICTIM’s roof. VICTIM [NAME REDACTED], who refused to leave, stating he was going to remove his cat from the roof. VICTIM [NAME REDACTED] would call the police, to which DEFENDANT picked up a snow shovel with a metal edge and threatened VICTIM saying, “I’m gonna f****** hit you, mother f*****.” VICTIM [NAME REDACTED] on the scene that he has been having issues with DEFENDANT since the previous Friday.
According to VICTIM, DEFENDANT has been harassing him and his family by going into their home uninvited and damaging their property. VICITM indicated that he and his family are in fear of DEFENDANT, that they had installed security cameras, and that he sent his wife and child [NAME REDACTED] at another location for several days. VICTIM [NAME REDACTED] has caused him significant fear that DEFENDANT would cause him and his family bodily harm to such a degree that VICTIM sent his spouse and daughter away and VICTIM now sleeps with a baseball bat.
Officers reviewed security video provided by VICTIM that corroborates his account and depicts DEFENDANT walking around the perimeter of VICTIM’s house. DEFENDANT is then seen climbing VICTIM’s roof with a ladder and snow shovel. Officers detained DEFENDANT, who spontaneously and voluntarily stated that “I should’ve killed that f***** last night.” DEFENDANT is presently in custody. DEFENDANT is also subject to a second allegation of Assault with a Deadly Weapon in MPD case #26007685 against the same victim [NAME REDACTED] on January 9, 2025.
