The following is based on your complainant’s review of the reports of other officers and your complainant’s own investigation: Christine Liquors (25-019549) On February 5, 2025, at about 8:45am, St. Paul Police responded to Christine Liquors, [ADDRESS REDACTED]., St. Paul, Ramsey County on a report of burglary. On arrival, officers found that the front window of the business had been broken out. A large piece of concrete lay on the floor inside. Multiple bottles of liquor had been displayed on a shelf just inside of the window; several were now on the floor.
A trail of blood, accompanied by small bottles of liquor, were on the ground leading to a nearby alley. In short, it appeared that someone had broken the window then reached inside to grab whatever bottles were within reach. An employee confirmed to officers that liquor bottles had been stolen. The store later provided documentation that the total value of the bottles was more than $1,700. Surveillance video from early that morning (February 5) was recovered. It shows a man with distinctive facial tattoos repeatedly throwing an object at the window.
The man then repeatedly reaches in and grabs items. Several items from the scene – including a small piece of glass – contained blood. These items were recovered. Milly’s Bakery (25-019648) Later that morning (February 5), St. Paul Police received a report of a similar burglary that had occurred nearby in the same time frame. The owner of Milly’s Bakery, [ADDRESS REDACTED]. S., St. Paul, Ramsey County told officers that a man had broken her front store window with a brick and taken merchandise. The store is about a third of a mile northwest of Christine Liquors.
Surveillance video was recovered. It shows a man standing in front of the business at shortly before 7:00am that morning. He appears to be the same man as at Christine Liquors, with the same facial tattoos and matching clothing. He looks around, as if to confirm that no one is watching, then breaks the window with a rock. He climbs through the window, walks around the store, and bites into several cupcakes. He then exits minutes later holding unknown items. Photographs were taken of damage to the window; the cost of repair was later determined to be more than $1,400. A large piece of concrete was found on the floor by the cash register.
It was recovered, along with wrappers from the bitten cupcakes. Identification Swabs from the piece of glass recovered from Christine Liquors, as well as from one of the cupcake wrappers recovered from Milly’s Bakery, were submitted to the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. Each was found to contain DNA matching a non-evidentiary offender sample from the defendant, MICHAEL ANTHONY CLARK ([DOB REDACTED]). The defendant has distinctive facial tattoos matching those seen on the videos of the burglaries. 3 62-CR-25-8554 Filed in District Court State of Minnesota 11/17/2025 On the night of the burglaries (February 5), the defendant’s mother reported to St. Paul Police that the defendant was missing.
