On January 1, 2026, at approximately 6:00 P.M., Brooklyn Center police officers met with adult female Victim regarding a sexual assault that occurred earlier that morning at the Baymont Hotel, located on Freeway Boulevard in Brooklyn Center, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Victim stated the night before (New Year's Eve), she was at Sally’s Saloon in Minneapolis with a couple friends. While at the bar, they met an older male, later identified as LASHAWN TERRELL LOGAN [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter “Defendant.” Victim [NAME REDACTED] at the bar until closing time, around 2:00 A.M. Defendant offered to give them all a ride home, so they accepted.
Defendant drove Victim’s two friends home first and dropped them off. Once they were out of the car, Victim [NAME REDACTED] in Dayton, Minnesota. Defendant started driving but did not take her to Dayton. He instead drove her to several other hotels but eventually ended up at the Baymont Hotel in Brooklyn Center. Victim [NAME REDACTED] did not want to go inside but Defendant grabbed her by the arm and forcibly pulled her into the hotel lobby. Defendant started booking a room, but Victim began to cause a scene, so Defendant brought her back to his vehicle.
Defendant then drove Victim to a nearby parking lot with a loading dock and semi- trucks. Defendant stopped the vehicle and started touching Victim’s vaginal area with his hand. He also grabbed the back of her neck, pulled her head down and forcibly penetrated Victim’s mouth with his penis. Defendant told Victim to “suck it” or he would put it in her. Victim tried to push Defendant off, but Defendant ignored her and continued to force her to perform oral sex on him until he ejaculated. Victim [NAME REDACTED] had locked the doors to the vehicle and she was crying throughout the assault.
After Defendant stopped, he started driving her to Dayton. During the drive, Defendant became sleepy and stopped at a gas station in Brooklyn Park. Defendant fell asleep in his car at the gas station. Victim then ordered an Uber ride and went home. Investigators went to the Baymont Hotel and spoke with the front desk clerk. The front desk clerk remembered Defendant and Victim. The clerk remembered Victim [NAME REDACTED] did not want to be with Defendant. The clerk stated Defendant paid cash but provided his Wisconsin Identification Card.
The card confirmed Defendant’s identity. Defendant’s whereabouts are currently unknown, and he poses a danger to public safety. The State respectfully requests a warrant issue with this complaint.
