On September 30, 2025, Minneapolis Police were dispatched to an apartment complex located on the 2000 block of 22nd Avenue South on the report of an individual, later identified as Jah Tot, Defendant herein, shooting a firearm in the air in the parking lot and threatening a neighbor, Victim herein. Officers responded and spoke with Victim [NAME REDACTED] went to Defendant's apartment to get some of his belongings. Victim reported that he and Defendant were outside the apartment building after moving the belongings and Defendant started to leave the parking lot in his vehicle.
Victim reported that Defendant suddenly stopped, got out of his vehicle and fired a gun in the air asking him if he wanted to "get shot." Victim reported that he extended his arm and told Defendant to stop. Defendant then got into his vehicle and drove away. Officers recovered a discharged cartridge casing from the parking lot where Victim reported Defendant fired the gun. Surveillance video from multiple angles also captured this incident. In the video, Defendant can be seen leaving the parking lot in his vehicle by backing out of his parking space and pulling forward towards the exit of the lot, while Victim [NAME REDACTED]. Defendant suddenly stops in the driving lane, gets out of the vehicle and approaches Victim on foot walking across the parking lot.
Through a tree, a muzzle flash can be seen in the area where Victim [NAME REDACTED]. Defendant then gets into his vehicle and leaves the parking lot. Officers spoke with Defendant who confirmed that he was at Victim's apartment on the night of this incident to pick up some of his things. He stated that Victim pointed a gun at him during the move out. Defendant stated that he continued to move his things out and when he was done, he went to his vehicle to leave. Defendant claimed that Victim blocked his ability to leave by standing behind his vehicle - the surveillance video demonstrates that this is untrue as Victim is not blocking Defendant's vehicle and he is able to back up and start to leave the lot before he suddenly stops.
Defendant claimed that he confronted Victim at the rear of his vehicle and fired a round in the air to get Victim to move and because Victim was reaching towards a fanny pack. Defendant stated that he then left the parking lot in his vehicle.
