On June 11, 2025, Maple Grove Police Officers received a theft of services report from A. B. At Christian Brothers Automotive located at [ADDRESS REDACTED] North, Maple Grove, Hennepin County, Minnesota. A. B. Reported that on October 9, 2024, DORIAN TYRELL LAMBERT [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein, had brought his 2020 Chevrolet Equinox to Christan Brothers Automotive to have a variety of services completed. On October 10, 2024, the Defendant approved a $99.99 diagnostic testing to be completed. From October 10, 2024, through November 7, 2024, the Defendant approved of various services to be completed on the vehicle.
The total for the services was $4,770.97. The work was completed on November 15, 2024, and the Defendant was advised that he can pick up the vehicle after making final payment. The Defendant did not come pick up the vehicle for several months and did not pay for the services. On Friday, June 6, 2025, the Defendant came back to Christan Brothers Automotive and gave an employee the title to the Equinox as he was still unable to pay for the repairs. However, the title was not signed over, because Christan Brothers Automotive wanted to research a lien on the vehicle.
The remainder of the loan exceeded the amount Christan Brothers Automotive was willing to pay and the vehicle remains in the Defendant's name. Later that evening around 2300 hours, a white transit van was observed on Christan Brothers Automotive lot. People are observed jump starting the Equinox and driving it away. On June 24, 2025, the Equinox was reportedly located by the lien holder, Regional Acceptance Corp, and towed for nonpayment of the lien. Also on June 24, 2025, Officers made contact with the Defendant and Christan Brothers Automotive.
The parties were attempting to work out a solution to the $4,770.97 outstanding balance. The Defendant stated that he owed approximately $17,000 on the vehicle and it was about to be repossessed when he brought it to Christan Brothers Automotive. He did not want the vehicle to be repossessed and the lien holder to charge him for the repairs. The Defendant stated that he retrieved the vehicle from the lot without paying for the repairs. He also stated that he would plan to pay Christian Brothers back once he is able to get transportation and money earned from a job.
On July 8, 2025, the Defendant made a $125 payment towards the total of services rendered. The remainder owed to Christan Brothers Automotive is $4,645.97. The Defendant is currently out of custody.
