All of the conduct described herein occurred within the County of St. Louis, State of Minnesota, unless otherwise noted. On February 19, 2025, at approximately 7:38 PM, Duluth Police Officer Powless responded to Target, located at [ADDRESS REDACTED] in Duluth, St. Louis County, Minnesota for a shoplifting incident. Officer Powless reviewed surveillance video of the incident and observed an individual he recognized as ALETHEA RENEE ISHAM, [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter referred to as the Defendant, walking out of the store with multiple vinyl records and clothing items without making any attempt to pay for the items.
Loss prevention stated she concealed the items in the fitting room as a male was slipping them to her from under the door. Officer Powless located the Defendant on the sidewalk outside the store and observed multiple vinyl record sleeves in her tote bag. The total value of stolen merchandise was $289.95. On July 2, 2025, at approximately 3:52 PM, Duluth Police Officer Warner was dispatched to Kohl’s, located at [ADDRESS REDACTED] in Duluth for a shoplifting incident. Kohl’s employee Elisabeth King said she observed the Defendant shoplifting two pairs of Nike brand shoes and one pair of pajama pants.
Officer Warner observed surveillance video of the incident and saw the Defendant concealing shoes in a bag and selecting pajama pants from a rack before proceeding to exit the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. The total value of stolen merchandise was $184.99. On July 7, 2025, at approximately 4:49 PM, Duluth Police Officer MacLennan was dispatched to Barnes and Noble, located at [ADDRESS REDACTED] in Duluth, for a shoplifting incident. The reporting party, Amy Miller, stated that a female later identified as the Defendant concealed six boxes of Legos in a tote bag before exiting the store without paying for the items.
The total value of stolen merchandise was $180.00. On August 18, 2025, at 5:36 PM, Duluth Police Lieutenant Tinsley responded to Barnes and Noble in Duluth for a shoplifting incident. Manager Michelle Lein reviewed surveillance video after their electronic gate alarm went off, and she observed the Defendant take a bag from under her arm and conceal $370.97 worth of toys inside of it, removing security spider wires and security tags before placing them in the bag and leaving the store without paying for the items.
The total value of stolen merchandise from these four incidents is $1,025.91. The Defendant is currently in custody at the St. Louis County Jail, therefore, a warrant is requested.
