On October 6, 2025, at approximately 11:05 P.M., Plymouth police officers were on routine patrol when they noticed a vehicle driving in the dark with no taillights near Vicksburg Lane and Chankhada Trail, in Hennepin County, Minnesota. Officers initiated a traffic stop of the vehicle, and spoke with the driver, identified via Minnesota Driver’s License as MANUEL DAELAN GARCIA, hereafter Defendant. While speaking with Defendant, officers observed a black zip lock bag with black sharpie markings on the front passenger seat.
Based on training and experience, officers knew this type of bag to often contain marijuana. Officers asked Defendant if the zip lock bag contained marijuana, and Defendant stated that it did. Officers asked Defendant to step out of the vehicle, and as Defendant stood up, a significant amount of marijuana shake fell out of his lap. Officers searched the vehicle and recovered the following: • A scale • A wallet containing a fraudulent Michigan identification card • Approximately $1,200 in cash • 2.61 grams of Alprazolam in tablet form • A total of 4.16 grams of Oxycodone, in various unmarked bottles and in tablet forms Officers obtained a search warrant for Defendant’s prescription history.
Upon reviewing Defendant’s prescription history pursuant to the warrant, officers learned that Defendant did not have a prescription for the Alprazolam, a Schedule IV controlled substance, or the Oxycodone, which is a Schedule II controlled substance. At present, Defendant is not in custody.
