On December 26, 2025, at 6:27 PM, Minneapolis Police Department Officers were dispatched to Interstate Highway 35W North and 46th Street East in the city of Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota for two parties fighting on the highway where one had a firearm. Dispatch notes indicated two people were fighting on the highway, a white Toyota RAV4 is parked on the right shoulder of the highway, one person had a gun, and the incident location was just north of the 46th Street exit. A black male wearing dark pants is the suspect with the gun.
At some point, dispatch updated that a shot had been fired. Upon arrival, officers saw two males standing outside of a white SUV. One party, later identified as VICTIM [DOB REDACTED], was wearing a white top, and motioned to officers for assistance. The second male, wearing all black, ran back to the vehicle into the driver’s seat. He was taken into custody and identified as AMIN MUKTAR MUKTAR MOHAMED ([DOB REDACTED], “DEFENDANT” hereinafter). Officers located a black Glock model 17 Gen 5 stashed behind the electrical box along the grassy part of the ditch.
An officer ran the serial number and confirmed the gun was stolen. While clearing the weapon making it safe, an officer noticed there was a spent casing jammed inside the gun. VICTIM [NAME REDACTED] is an acquaintance, the brother of a friend, who he picked up in Bloomington somewhere off 82nd Street and was planning to drop him off in Cedar Riverside. VICTIM [NAME REDACTED] into an argument because DEFENDANT is on probation and VICTIM [NAME REDACTED] was armed with a firearm. VICTIM [NAME REDACTED] was under the influence of something.
They were discussing life when the situation became emotional. At that point, DEFENDANT drew a firearm, rigged slide, and then placed it against VICTIM’s face. A physical struggle over the weapon ensued, initially inside the vehicle and subsequently outside. VICTIM said DEFENDANT fired the gun while they were grappling on the ground. VICTIM said DEFENDANT pistol whipped him, threw him into the side of a barrier on the shoulder of the freeway, and he hit his head. Officers noted that VICTIM [NAME REDACTED] injury.
Surveillance footage shows DEFENDANT fleeing the scene and concealing the firearm behind a pole, where officers later recovered it. DEFENDANT is in custody.
