On November 1, 2025, Officers from the St. Cloud Police Department were dispatched to the 1000 block of West St. Germain Street in the City of St. Cloud, County of Stearns on a report of an assault. Officers met with A. K. B., an adult female victim [NAME REDACTED] in the police reports. A. K. B. Stated Andrew Lee Olson, [DOB REDACTED], had attacked her. A. K. B. Explained that she and the defendant had been arguing via messages throughout the day. During messages the defendant threatens to take their minor [NAME REDACTED], that he is "going to beat his 40K out of him", that he is going to kill himself, that he has nothing to lose and will make a scene, that he is "going to light this house and sit inside.
I am going out". He also repeatedly demands to speak to his children while calling A. K. B. Names and swearing at her. A. K. B. Stated around 8:30 p.m the defendant asked where she was located and she indicated she was at the residence. She stated shortly after the defendant arrived at the residence in his motor vehicle and kicked the door and broke the handle. A. K. B. Stated she tried to unlock the door to prevent further damage and her finger was cut as he pushed open the door. The defendant entered the residence and began damaging the house.
A. K. B. Stated she was leaving with her two minor children. She stated at one point the defendant picked up Child A, fully identified in the police reports, and Child A began screaming as the defendant would not let A. K. B. Take the child. The defendant stated "You want to see a crash out?" and then punched the living room window causing it to break. A. K. B. Stated she started to leave the residence when the defendant grabbed a kitchen knife which was a purple butcher knife. She stated he walked by her with it with the blade down.
A. K. B. Stated she then called police. The defendant turned towards her with the knife in his hand with the blade up facing her. She stated she did not know what he was going to do. She stated when the defendant realized she was on the phone with police he threw the knife. A. K. B. Stated she then barricaded herself in a room at dispatch direction with her minor children. Police observed holes in the walls, damage to a living room window, and a glass cabinet that was shattered. Police also noted damage to the screen door.
Police located the knife in a trash can. Officers attempted to detain the defendant while they initially investigated due to reports of him having a knife. The defendant appeared intoxicated and refused to follow officers commands. The defendant attempted to pull away from officers and displayed aggressive behavior towards police. The defendant ultimately had to be placed in a WRAP restraint device. Even after being placed in the WRAP the defendant began hitting his head against the squad and had to be placed in a helmet and spit hood.
