On June 19, 2025 a Chaska Officer was dispatched to a phone call from Home Depot in Chaska, Carver County. N. R. Stated he was made aware of a theft where two individuals came in and attempted to purchase $1,292.99 in paint supplies and demanded the clerk his the cash button transaction to complete, which does not process like a credit card. This occurred on June 18. Instead, the machine believes cash is being obtained but it is not. The same suspects who were at the Chaska Home Depot then returned some of the items later to a different Home Depot for cash.
N. R. Stated this is a common scheme. Suspect 1 is an African American male, 18-25, blue shirt, black pants, black boots, red lanyard with keys and two earrings in his left ear. Suspect two is African American Male, 18-25, long black hair in dreads, orange shirt, blue jeans, black boots. Surveillance shows the two males approach register 2 and present 13 items for purchase. After the cashier rings them up, one of the males tells the cashier he has a "cash card" and instructs the cashier to push the cash button.
The cashier stated they needed to ask a manager as that did not sound right. The male insisted that the cashier pressed the cash button. The cashier stated that only occurs when paid in cash. The male reaches over and pushes the button with himself. The males leave with the merchandise. The two suspects did this at the Plymouth Home Depot and Hudson. Chaska received those reports and identified suspect 1 (the person who pressed the cash button on the register) as Jeremiah Da Michael Broady (1-29-2003), hereinafter Defendant.
Defendant was identified by the Plymouth Police as a result of a search warrant that was completed for Enterprise Car Rental. In the Hudson surveillance Defendant is wearing the same red lanyard and has double pierced ears. The driver's license of Defendant matches the person in both surveillance videos. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: Pursuant to Minn. Stat. 609.49., intentional failure to appear for duly scheduled court appearances may result in additional criminal charges, and in addition to any arrest warrant that may otherwise be issued by the Court.
