On October 3, 2025, Minneapolis Police officers were dispatched to a residence located on the 1900 block of Jackson Street NE in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota on the report of a domestic assault. Officers responded and saw BRANDON ALEXIS ESTRADA AGUILAR, DEFENDANT herein, leaving the residence. Officers approached and made contact with Defendant. Shortly thereafter, a known adult female, Victim herein, exited the home. Defendant then sprinted back into the home and shut the door. Officers spoke with Victim [NAME REDACTED] in distress and agitated.
Victim [NAME REDACTED] on her dogs because she believed Defendant was going to kill them and light the house on fire. Victim [NAME REDACTED] has threatened to kill her and light the house on fire causing her to feel terrified. Victim stated repeatedly that she believed she was going to die. Victim stated that Defendant assaulted her around 2 in the morning the night before by covering her mouth and squeezing her head suffocating her and obstructing her ability to breathe. Victim [NAME REDACTED] was going to die.
Defendant kept repeating, "You need to listen to me" when this was happening. Defendant then released her and acted like everything was normal. In speaking with Victim, [NAME REDACTED] had red marks to her neck and chest, scratches on her legs, and sutures on a laceration to her wrist that she reported occurred when Defendant broke glass. Officers were let into the residence by another roommate and looked for Defendant. Officers learned that Defendant had fled out the back door of the residence and could not be located.
Victim [NAME REDACTED] on August 31, 2025, Defendant came upstairs in the residence wearing latex gloves. Defendant punched the wall and then sat on the bed with Victim. Defendant grabbed victim by her mouth and put his other hand behind her head suffocating her. Victim reported that Defendant also put his arms around her neck causing her to not be able to breathe. She stated that she lost consciousness and when she came to, she was downstairs being thrown onto the couch. Defendant covered her mouth again until she lost consciousness.
She came to in the basement after having been laid in a mattress bag. Victim stated she started to scream and saw Defendant in the room watching her. Victim [NAME REDACTED], "Please, please I love you." Defendant eventually allowed Victim to get up and go upstairs where she found her friend outside. Victim provided officers photographs of her injuries from the August 31 assault. Victim [NAME REDACTED] in a romantic relationship on and off since June of 2024. An investigator spoke with Victim's mother who called 911 requesting a welfare check on Victim on October 3 as a result of ongoing abuse by Defendant against Victim.
Victim's mother stated that she saw Victim on October 5, 2025 and she had visible injuries from being assaulted by Defendant including an indent to her head. An investigator also spoke with Victim's friend. Victim's friend indicated that during Victim's relationship with Defendant since July 2024, Victim has reached out to him multiple times for help from the abuse she has been enduring from Defendant. Victim's friend reported that he has seen Victim with bruising and a bloody lip from Defendant.
