On March 12, 2026, Deputy Gengler was informed that Zachary Taylor Dunaway, [DOB REDACTED] was incarcerated in the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center pursuant to an active warrant from Henderson County, Kentucky. Deputy Gengler contacted the Henderson County, Kentucky Sheriff's Office to confirm the warrant and their intent to extradite Zachary Taylor Dunaway from the State of Minnesota. Deputy Gengler requested and received a copy of the warrant issued from the State of Kentucky, Henderson County Court for criminal case number 22-CR-00320 signed by Judge K. Wilson dated February 9, 2024 alleging that Zachary Taylor Dunaway violated the conditions of his probation following his conviction for the following: 1) Possession Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense in violation of 218A.1415; 2) Drug Paraphernalia-Buy/Possess, in violation of 218A.500(2); 3) Speeding 26 MPH or > Speed Limit in violation of 189.390; and 4) Contempt of Court Libel/Slander Resistance to Order in violation of 432.280. On March 12, 2026 Deputy Gengler conducted an extradition interview with Zachary Taylor Dunaway at the Adult Detention Center.
Zachary Taylor Dunaway verbally identified himself. Deputy Gengler read Dunaway his Miranda Rights and he invoked his rights. Complainant has reasonable grounds to believe that Zachary Taylor Dunaway, who is currently in the custody of the Olmsted County Sheriff, is the person described in the documents received from the State of Kentucky and is a fugitive from justice. The said Zachary Taylor Dunaway should be brought before the Olmsted County District Court so that he may be advised of his rights and a determination be made whether or not he waives extradition to the State of Kentucky or whether he contests and demands a hearing relative to the right of the State of Kentucky to return him to the State of Kentucky.
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: YOU MUST APPEAR FOR EVERY COURT HEARING REGARDING THIS CASE. FAILURE TO APPEAR FOR COURT IS A CRIMINAL OFFENSE AND MAY RESULT IN ADDITIONAL CRIMINAL CHARGES BEING IMPOSED AND PUNISHED AS PROVIDED IN MINNESOTA STATUTES SECTION 609.49.
