On January 13, 2026, at approximately 2:31 P.M., Deputy Geier of the Mower County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a call from K. E. J. (an adult male) regarding the retrieval of his personal property from [ADDRESS REDACTED] West in the City of LeRoy, County of Mower. K. E. J. Told Deputy Geier that he and SHANIKA LOUISE HARRINGTON, DOB/092494, the defendant herein, had been dating for approximately six months. K. E. J. Stated that in November of 2025 he moved from Georgia and into the defendant’s apartment located at [ADDRESS REDACTED] West.
K. E. J. Stated that on the prior Saturday, January 10th, he and the defendant got into an argument, and he left and found a place to stay. K. E. J. Stated that the defendant then sent him a text the day prior telling him to get all his property that she had placed outside the apartment. K. E. J. Also stated that the defendant threatened to leave his registered service dog outside in the cold weather to die. K. E. J. Stated that he had a set of keys for the apartment, but the defendant told him that she had changed the locks.
K. E. J. Informed the deputy that if he was unable to get into his apartment, he was going to kick down the door. Geier advised K. E. J. To attempt to retrieve his personal property peacefully without escalating the matter. At approximately 2:45 P.M., the defendant contacted Deputy Geier and stated that she changed the locks to the apartment so he could not get back in. The defendant told Geier that K. E. J. Messaged her and said he was coming for his personal property and was going to kick down the door.
The defendant said that she does not want him on the property until he pays her $1,000. Geier tried to explain to the defendant that she could not restrict K. E. J. From the residence. The defendant became irate and hung up on the deputy. At approximately 4:01 P.M., deputies were dispatched to the residence for a disturbance between the defendant and K. E. J. The defendant called stating that K. E. J. Was in her apartment and had kicked in the door. She said she was on the way to the apartment from Spring Valley.
At approximately 4:16 P.M., K. E. J. Called dispatch stating that the defendant arrived on scene and was screaming. K. E. J. Stated that he and Victim A (an adult female) arrived in Victim A’s vehicle, a Pontiac G6, and remained inside it while on the phone with dispatch. K. E. J. Stated that the defendant had a sharp- edged weapon and slashed the vehicle’s tires and cracked the windshield. K. E. J. Stated that while she was damaging Victim A’s vehicle, the defendant was screaming “go get my money.” Deputies Beaver and Mueller arrived and observed the defendant standing in front of Victim A’s vehicle.
The defendant stated that she was not moving because they were trying to leave. The defendant stated that K. E. J. Kicked down her door and she wants her money now. The defendant told Beaver that K. E. J. Moved three days ago and moved in with “this b****.” The defendant stated that she was not allowing them to leave as they had just broken into her place. The deputies observed Victim A’s vehicle and saw the front two tires were flat, the hood was dented, and the front windshield had a large crack in it.
