Michael Robert Brost

On December 22, 2025, St. Anthony Police responded to 2714 Highway 88, St. Anthony, Hennepin County. K. Q. Told Police that she observed an individual, later identified as MICHAEL ROBERT BROST (“Defendant”), tampering with the door of a vacant store. Police observed that there were pry marks on the door, and that the lock tumbler of the door was missing. Police obtained surveillance video showing Defendant tampering with the door. Police located and identified Defendant. Police observed Defendant throw an item into the snow.

Police recovered the item, and identified it as the lock tumbler missing from the door to the store. The lock tumbler had pry marks on it similar to the pry marks on the store door. Police arrested Defendant. In a search incident to arrest, Police recovered a pliers, a knife and a lock-picking tool from Defendant’s person. In a post-Miranda statement, Defendant admitted to taking the lock tumbler.
