On December 6, 2025, at approximately 9:58 P.M., Wright County Sheriff’s Office (“WCSO”) Deputy Simon Willard was dispatched to [ADDRESS REDACTED] in the City of Monticello, Wright County, on reports of a domestic assault. It was reported that M. M. P., [DOB REDACTED], had been assaulted by her boyfriend, Benjamin Arthur Nesbitt, [DOB REDACTED], herein after Defendant. The victim [NAME REDACTED], and was at the reporting party’s address. Deputy Willard responded to the reporting party’s address and made contact with M. M. P. Who was extremely emotional, and had visible marks on her face.
M. M. P. Stated the following: she lives with Defendant and their two children; tonight they were drinking alone; they have both cheated on each other in the past and were talking about it; Defendant became upset and assaulted her; he choked her for ten seconds, completely restricting her breathing; when he was choking her, his grip was 8/10; it hurt and she was scared; she had to catch her breath and was coughing afterwards; she was able to push him away and ran to the bedroom closet; Defendant began grabbing her aggressively, and pulling at her clothing; he pulled all her clothes off and she was completely naked; Defendant continued to attack her while she was naked in the closet; Defendant slapped her on the right side of her face; Defendant began choking her again for approximately 10 seconds; Defendant left, and came back later; he attempted to aggressively grab her again, before he left for a second time; and she put her clothes back on and left the residence.
Deputy Willard observed red marks on M. M. P.’s face, which appeared to be the outline of fingers, consistent with being slapped. M. M. P. Also had a bloody lip. Another mark was observed on her neck under her chin, which appeared to be starting to bruise. M. M. P. Also ran her hand through her hair, removing a clump of hair which had been ripped out by Defendant. M. M. P. Stated that Defendant had strangled her in the past, on multiple occasions, but she never reported the prior assaults. While Defendant was choking her, he stated that he would kill her and wanted her dead.
M. M. P. Said she was scared of being killed. Deputy Willard responded to residence and made contact with Defendant. Defendant refused to open the door to the residence, or speak with law enforcement. The State is requesting a warrant as the Defendant's arrest is necessary to prevent imminent harm to anyone.
