On 04/04/26 at approximately 1123 hours, Ofc. Kusske was dispatched to a reported domestic dispute at an apartment located in Moorhead, Clay County, MN. The Complainant indicated that a male and female could be heard yelling at each other from the apartment and also heard loud banging noises. The male involved in the dispute was later identified to be TONY SCOTT GUNDERSON [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter referred to as Defendant. The female involved in the domestic dispute was later identified to be K. N. H., hereinafter referred to as Victim.
Upon arrival, Ofc, Kusske made contact with the Victim who was sitting outside the apartment crying. Victim explained that she and the Defendant were not currently dating but that she was pregnant with his child. She had confronted the Defendant about meeting up with another woman. The Defendant denied doing anything wrong and an argument ensued. While the Defendant and Victim were in the laundry room, the Defendant struck the Victim on the right side of her head with a closed fist. After punching her, the Defendant grabbed the Victim [NAME REDACTED] one hand and pushed her against the washer.
Victim [NAME REDACTED] was unable to breathe for approximately ten (10) seconds before the Defendant let go over he neck. Victim indicated that she felt like she was going to pass out while the Defendant grabbed her. Once the Defendant let go of her, the Victim walked to the bedroom and the Defendant followed her. Defendant then covered her nose and mouth while they were in the bedroom to stop her from yelling for help. Victim was also unable to breathe while the Defendant did that as well. Once the Defendant released his grip, the Victim gathered her belongings and left the apartment.
A third party witness knocked on the apartment door during the altercation. The third party witness told police that she was in town visiting and hear the Defendant and Victim arguing since approximately 1000 hours that day. The witness indicated that the Victim opened the door when she knocked and the the witness told the Defendant that she was going to call the police. Defendant, seeing the call being made, grabbed some items and left the area before law enforcement arrived. Defendant refused to provide a statement to police regarding what happened. **This is a DV Court matter for scheduling purposes.
