On March 26, 2026, at approximately 1:42 P.M., Saint Paul Officers responded to the 500 block of Charles Avenue, Saint Paul, County of Ramsey, on a call involving a victim [NAME REDACTED] intentionally struck by a motor vehicle. It was reported that a male was sitting on the complainant and the complainant was screaming. The suspect vehicle was a white Honda Pilot, SMB653. Officers arrived and found MRJ lying on the roadway, on her right side with her legs bent. MRJ was crying and moaning, and asking for help.

When asked who hit her, MRJ said it was her boyfriend’s cousin- DE’JAH MARIE LATESE CUNNINGHAM, [DOB REDACTED]. MRJ said CUNNINGHAM hit her with the car on purpose. MRJ was transported to Regions Hospital by ambulance and was taken into surgery. After, a doctor advised officers that MRJ suffered a pelvic fracture, left hip dislocation, a tiny laceration to the spleen, air and blood in her abdomen, and a portion of her small intestine was removed due to internal bleeding. The doctor advised MRJ would likely need additional surgeries due to her pelvic fracture.

The Honda Pilot registers to CUNNINGHAM. Officer Lyfoung spoke with MRJ earlier in the day regarding her boyfriend-ADARIUS STEVEN GLEES, [DOB REDACTED], taking her car. Witness SS said he heard screaming and saw two people hitting a female in the street. A white or silver SUV was involved. One of the people got into the vehicle and drove it into the female. The other person got into the vehicle and they drove off east on Charles. SS thought the suspects were a male and a female. Witness KJ said at around 9:00 A.M., he heard yelling, crying, and doors slamming from the apartment.

After some time, the male returned to the apartment. He looked out of his window and heard a door open. He saw a female and the male walking west on Charles. KJ went down to the porch area. He saw the female and male involved in a physical altercation. KJ saw the male slam the female’s head to the ground, punch and kick her. A white SUV drove forward and the female was still on the ground. The male entered the vehicle and they drove away. KG said the female victim lives in the apartment building with her four-year-old daughter.

Police viewed Ring camera video from the area. A video showed MRJ following suspect west on Charles Avenue. The female (MRJ) yelled at the male and the male asked for help. Another female entered the view. The two females fight. The male jumped into the fight. At one point, a female (suspect) walked out of view. A white car drove up and rolled onto the female (MRJ) who was lying on the ground. The male entered the vehicle and it drove away. A second video showed a vehicle drive up to victim (MRJ)-toward her abdomen area- who was lying on the ground.

The vehicle’s tires appeared to push MRJ to the curb, but did not appear to run over her. The male said why did you do that? The vehicle backed out and the female driver yelled at the male to get in the car. The male got into the car, and the vehicle drove off. Officers arrested CUNNINGHAM at a residence on Pond Avenue East. Officer Emberley spoke with GLEES by phone. GLEES said he was in the area of the Holiday Gas Station at [ADDRESS REDACTED]. Officers went to the Holiday Gas Station and found the Honda Pilot parked. 2 62-CR-26-2085 Filed in District Court State of Minnesota 3/27/2026 GLEES was seen exiting the store shortly after.
