Victim [NAME REDACTED] was hired to plow the driveway and yard of the residence located at 27930 133 ½ Street NW, Baldwin, Sherburne County, Minnesota. This property belongs to Phillip William Brown, [DOB REDACTED]. Victim advised on the evening of December 9, he began work plowing the property. While he was plowing, Brown, who appeared to be intoxicated, drove a vehicle around the property, getting in Victim’s way and preventing Victim [NAME REDACTED]. Victim [NAME REDACTED] would return to complete the job in the morning.
On December 10, Victim spoke with Brown by phone. Brown became upset and told Victim he did not want him returning and that someone else would finish the plowing. Victim [NAME REDACTED] went to the property to collect payment for the work already performed. Victim [NAME REDACTED] on the property, Brown became upset and told Victim [NAME REDACTED]. Victim [NAME REDACTED] would leave when he got paid. Brown then retrieved a Henry “Golden Boy” rifle from behind the door, cocked it, and pointed it toward Victim.
Victim reported that Brown’s wife was present and pulled the door shut part of the way, creating a barrier. Victim stated Brown then put the firearm down and grabbed a second firearm described as an AR‐style gun. Brown then put the second gun down and picked up a scraper. Victim reported making a comment like, “hitting me is the worst thing you could do right now.” Victim advised he returned to his vehicle and Brown’s wife sent him the funds electronically for payment for plowing. Victim [NAME REDACTED] was concerned Brown would shoot him, but was also concerned for Brown’s wife’s safety.
Victim [NAME REDACTED], Brown repeatedly called him. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: Pursuant to Minn. Stat. 609.49, intentional failure to appear for duly scheduled court appearances may result in additional criminal charges, and in addition to any arrest warrant that may otherwise be issued by the Court.
