Notice: Pursuant to Minnesota Rule of Criminal Procedure 7.02, the prosecution provides notice that, at trial, the State will offer evidence of the following offenses, in addition to the offense herein charged, for the purpose of proving the motive, intent, preparation, plan, and identity of the perpetrator. ••-CR-••-•••• On 12/27/24, LEMKE and two others punched a victim in the face multiple times on the LRT Green Line. During the assault, the victim dropped his phone and the suspects stole the phone wallet case which contained the victim’s credit cards and identification.
When LEMKE was arrested, police found debit cards belonging to the victim [NAME REDACTED]. LEMKE admitted to taking the victim's property and was convicted of Simple Robbery. ••-CR-••-•••• On July 27, 2021, LEMKE and another suspect grabbed a victim [NAME REDACTED], went through his pockets, and demanded his money and cell phone. The two suspects then stole the victim's wallet and cell phone and assaulted him when he resisted. LEMKE was convicted of Aggravated Robbery. Current Offense: On 10/14/24 at 2036 hours, Matro Transit Police were dispatched to a report of a robbery at the Capital Rice LRT Station in St. Paul, Ramsey County.
Upon arrival, police spoke to GT who said she got off the train at the station. When she took out her cellphone, a male suspect came from behind, pushed her to the ground, and grabbed the phone. GT said she resisted and tried to grab her phone back but couldn’t get it. The suspect pushed and threw GT to the ground and then fled the scene on foot. Using LRT CCTV, police obtained clear photos of the suspect and assembled an Attempt to Identify (ATI) that was disseminated to officers for identification purposes.
The ATI was seen by a Metro Transit officer who recognized the suspect from previous criminal incidents on public transportation. The suspect was positively identified as Javon Thomas LEMKE ([DOB REDACTED]) based in part upon his hairstyle, facial features, and distinct tattoos on his neck. Upon information and belief, LEMKE is currently in custody for an unrelated matter and a warrant, therefore, is requested.
