On November 19, 2025, approximately around 5:19 P.M., Maple Grove Police Department Officers responded to a call for suspected shoplifting at Buckle, located at [ADDRESS REDACTED] North, in Maple Grove, Hennepin County. Officers learned a male suspect concealed a pair of Rock Revival jeans underneath his hoodie and exited the store. The male suspect was described as wearing a white hat, baggy pants and a blue hoodie. Officers observed an individual matching the description of the male suspect leaving Buckle and entering Nordstrom Rack.
After leaving the Nordstrom Rack, officers saw the male suspect pull a pair of jeans from underneath his hoodie. Officers approached the male suspect. Officers conducted a pat-search and located brand new gloves from Duluth Trading Company in the back of the male suspect's pants. Officers also observed the male suspect was wearing brand new shoes. The male suspect was also wearing jeans, which officers suspected to be the stolen Rock Revival jeans. Officers sent a photograph of the jeans to staff at Buckle, who confirmed the jeans as stolen.
Officers later confirmed the Defendant's hat, and the gloves were stolen from Duluth Trading Company. Officers also later confirmed Defendant's shoes were stolen from Nordstrom Rack. The approximate value of the stolen merchandise is $373.00. The male suspect verbally identified himself as “Tadhg Henry Bolen” [DOB REDACTED]. Officers learned this name was an alias and later identified the male suspect as CALEB JOHN PERMANN [DOB REDACTED] "Defendant" herein. Routine records checks revealed Defendant had an active arrest warrant.
Officers arrested and searched the Defendant. Inside of Defendant's pant pocket, officers located a whiteish rock like substance. Defendant was transported to the Hennepin County Jail. Subsequent field testing of the whiteish rock like substance revealed the presence of 0.31 grams of fentanyl. Defendant has a pending Fifth-Degree possession of a controlled substance charge from Hennepin County in Court File No. ••-CR-••-••••. Defendant is in custody.
