On January 13, 2026, at approximately 7:10 P.M., Saint Paul Police responded to the 1500 block of Margaret Street, Saint Paul, County of Ramsey, on a domestic assault. The 911 caller was PCM and her husband, ALAN JOHN MAGEE, [DOB REDACTED]-was the suspect. PCM told dispatch MAGEE tried to choke her. When officers arrived, they observed broken glass on the floor in the living room around MAGEE’s feet. PCM had red marks on both sides of her neck, and a small cut on her right hand middle finger. PCM said MAGEE received a large amount of money.
They have a shared bank account. They agreed that she could buy a new musical instrument and get another dog. PCM went to the bank and withdrew money to pay for the items. When she returned home at around 6:30 P.M., MAGEE was on the couch. She knew he was drunk. He confronted her about the money she withdrew from the bank and said he did not give her permission. She disagreed, and told him he needed to go to bed. He shouted at her from the bedroom, and eventually went to the living room where she was, demanding his card and money returned.
She stood up, clutched her purse, and told him no. They both struggled for her purse. MAGEE got behind her, placed a single arm around her neck and his elbow was under her chin. PCM said she could not breathe, but then said she could. She thought he was going to kill her. PCM said she had a sore throat, lost control of her bladder, and urinated during the incident. While he choked her, MAGEE yelled repeatedly that he wanted his cash and card returned. PCM was able to get away, ran to the kitchen, and screamed for help.
MAGEE followed her into the kitchen and they again struggled for her purse. She ran to the living room and MAGEE followed her. He flipped over the table in the living room, breaking things. They physically struggled with each other with MAGEE placing her a bear hug. She called 911. MAGEE sat on the couch and called family members. MAGEE was arrested. After a Miranda advisory, he spoke to an investigator. MAGEE said he and PCM argued about money. He received a small settlement and PCM took $3,000. He said they were buying a dog for $1,000. They argued and she shoved him down.
He got up, tried to lunge over the table for her purse. They struggled over the purse. He pushed the table aside. She got off the couch and called police. When asked about the chokehold, MAGEE said, “I don’t know if it was a chokehold, but I was holding her.” He said he was at breast level, but maybe his arm slipped up. MAGEE said he held PCM for about fifteen seconds. MAGEE yelled, “F*** you, leave me alone, I’m calling 911.
