On 6/22/25 at about 0551 hours, Minneapolis Police responded to a report of a DANCO violation and auto theft. The caller, TLW, said there was an active DANCO prohibiting Charles Jesse SCHROEDL (DOB 19860622) from having any contact with her. TLW said SCHROEDL showed up at her address, banged on her window, came inside, and then stole her ATM card and 2023 Hyundai Kona SUV (9RV-517) that had been parked in her garage. The value of the vehicle exceeded $5,000. On 06/27/2025 at about 1315 hours, Roseville Police spotted the stolen Hyundai driving in the HarMar Mall parking lot in Roseville, Ramsey County.
When the driver, later identified as SCHROEDL, saw police approaching he began driving evasively, but squads activated their emergency lights and blocked the vehicle in. Both SCHROEDL and his female passenger, later identified as NM, were removed from the vehicle. SCHROEDL had the vehicle’s key fob in his pocket. During a post-Miranda statement, SCHROEDL said TLW knew he was driving the vehicle. He said TLW loaned the vehicle to “Josh” (no last name or phone number) and “Josh” gave him the vehicle and the key.
While being transported to the LEC, SCHROEDL claimed he had ingested fentanyl and was transported to Regions Hospital. For purposes of Rule 6.
